According to MarkNtel Advisors, the Global Probiotic Soap and Detergent Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of around 9.2% during the forecast period, i.e., 2023-28. Probiotic soaps & detergents significantly enhance the cleaning effectiveness by forming their ways through microscopic cracks of the surface and controlling the unwanted bacteria to stop bad odor long after they are applied on the surface. They are effective & sustainable products that help deep clean the surface without killing the beneficial bacteria and, in turn, maintain environmental commitments.
Hence, the rising demand for improving cleaning effectiveness and mounting inclination of consumers toward using natural products since improper usage of conventional laundry soaps pollutes the water body are the prime aspects expected to drive the global market in the coming years.
Fastest Growing Demand for Probiotic Soaps & Detergents for Floor & Surface Cleaning During 2023-28
The workplaces, hospitals, and residential areas contain a large number of germs & bacteria. However, not all bacteria are harmful to health since there are a few healthy ones that aid in the removal of bad ones from the surface. These good bacteria can keep the environment healthy. Inadequate use of chemical cleaners makes the bacteria resistant to these chemicals, which, in turn, can cause serious health issues to the cleaning staff.
Further, sensitive areas like hospitals contain an immense amount of bacteria, which increases the need for probiotic soap & detergents to kill harmful microbes since they are non-hazardous to the environment, can be re-used, and have longer effectivity than conventional ones. Hence, it makes them a perfect choice for floor & surface cleaning.

AWA Soap Launched by Andea to Contribute Significantly to the Global Market through 2028
Many people living in Peru do not have a properly running water supply, due to which the tradition of washing clothes on riverbanks is common across some parts of the country. Since using laundry soap pollutes the water on which people also rely for cooking, drinking, or bathing, a new probiotic soap, AWA, was designed that, besides cleaning clothes, also effectively cleanses the river water.
Amidst the Covid-19 crisis in 2020, Peru’s mineral water brand Andrea started testing different solutions to clean water bodies. In collaboration with its creative agency Fahrenheit DDB and other researchers at CIRSYS, it found a microorganism with probiotic capabilities of feeding on water pollutants. Hence, altogether, they came up with AWA, a probiotic soap with those microorganisms that help clean the water in which people wash their clothes. According to Andea, AWA has shown up to 75% effectiveness in improving water quality. These soaps were distributed without any charges among many villagers of Peru to promote their use and make water bodies clean.
